The Twin Lakes Food Bank has big plans to expand its facility and its services. Wednesday night they “announced the launch of a three-year, $3.1 million capital campaign titled Building Hope,” according to the Folsom Times. Over the three decades the food bank has been serving the community, the need has grown nearly three-fold and demand is expected to continue to rise. “Building a larger food bank is crucial to fulfilling our mission,” said Executive Director Lisa Tuter. “That is why we are launching this capital campaign to ensure that when our hungry neighbors come to the food bank, we will be equipped to serve them and not be forced to turn them away empty-handed.”
The train at Lions Park will continue to delight park-goers for at least another five years. “The Folsom City Council approved a five-year concession agreement July 8 to extend the contract with Truson V. Buegel and Stephanie Bea Roy to run the miniature live steam train at City Lions Park,” according to the Folsom Telegraph.
Intel has indicated, through two additional WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) notices that it intends to lay off over 300 workers over the next couple of weeks, in addition to the 54 reported earlier this year. According to KCRA3 an Intel spokesperson stated, “We are making these decisions based on careful consideration of what’s needed to position our business for the future, and we will treat people with care and respect as we complete this important work."
