Were you among the thousands that witnessed the tree lighting in Historic Folsom on Friday night? If not, the Folsom Times has it on video for you! Watch as snow falls, lights twinkle, Santa waves and the Grinch gets his comeuppance.
As snow was falling in Old Folsom, our mighty Bulldogs were falling in Pittsburg…. Yep. Pitt beat us 28-27 dashing our hopes of a second straight state title. It was a nailbiter as the Pirates battled back from a 21-0 deficit pull out the win. Tough night for our Bulldogs. (Folsom Telegraph)
It may have been a tough night for Folsom Bulldogs quarterback Ryder Lyons on Friday, but it’s been quite the young career already for the high school junior. To that end, Lyons has been named the Gatorade State Player of the Year by FOX40 Sports. Lyons “has thrown for 2,874 yards this season with 44 touchdowns.
He also has 12 rushing touchdowns.” I’d say we’ve not seen the last of that young man.
Hey! Did you know?

Style Magazine has a round up of the People & Places in the News this month. Lake Tahoe’s getting a flying ferry! (Sort of.) It’s a hydrofoil that will traverse the lake in 30 minutes, be eco-friendly and give you a silky-smooth ride, reducing the risk of seasickness. “Steered by computers, underwater wings effectively lift the ships’ hulls in the air, which makes them look as if they’re levitating.” It may be premiering as soon as the end of 2025. I can write about it all day, but check out the pictures if you want to really get a feel for how cool these things are. (Nice News)
