The Pony Express rode through Historic Folsom on Wednesday just after 7:30 PM, and the ponies received their plaudits in the form of cheers from the crowd when they arrived. “With a swift handoff, the rider delivered the mochila—a faithful replica of the leather mail pouch once carried across the frontier—bringing a piece of American history back to life on Sutter Street,” according to the Folsom Times. They’re on their way, again, headed east toward St. Joseph Missouri.

Congrats to the team and good luck at Nationals! (Folsom Telegraph)
Heads up! There will be a DUI checkpoint somewhere in Folsom on June 18. They’re not going to tell you where, for obvious reasons, but if you’re driving under the influence, I’ll bet you dollars to donuts you’ll find it! Stay sober that night and be as oblivious as the rest of us where that checkpoint is. (Folsom PD Facebook page)

Shhhhh! I’ve got a secret…. Actually, several of them about, of all things, airplane cabins. While you are whiling away the hours on the plane to Grandma’s this summer, look around you. Why do those dim cabin lights stay on? (Because your eyes will adjust to the bright light faster in an emergency.) Why is the cabin so darn cold? (Because you are less likely to faint if the temperature is on the colder side.) Want to know more about the secrets of airplane cabins? Check out this article from dailypassport.com.
